FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You can expect a quick response time because we are available 24/7. Once on-site, our team will investigate the cause of the damage and build a step-by-step plan to restore your property.
As a full-service restoration company, Walsh Restoration handles everything, from initial cleanup to final repairs. This means we will coordinate between all pertaining parties—including your insurance company and subcontractors—to manage your entire project from start to finish, so you don't have to.
Emergency Response
Our emergency response involves cleaning, drying, sanitizing, and demolition to the affected parts of your property to bring it back to dry standard.
Abatement
If your property was built before 1990, asbestos testing needs to be done before we can start work. If the asbestos test comes back positive, we will need to coordinate abatement to ensure the hazardous materials are removed and properly disposed.
Repairs
Once your property is dry, some areas may need to be reconstructed. These repairs may include painting, flooring, and cabinetry to bring your property back to its pre-loss condition.
We protect and move salvageable items out of the work area when possible. If the damage is extensive, we can arrange for secure off-site storage until the work is complete. Any non-recoverable items are documented and disposed of with your approval.
If your property was built before 1990, asbestos may be present in building materials. B.C.'s regulations require a hazardous materials survey before demolition or certain repair work can begin. This helps protect you and keeps the project compliant with WorkSafeBC requirements.
Even if you have previously renovated your house that was built prior to 1990, we will still need to test for asbestos.
Permits are required when projects undergo construction, renovation, demolition, or structural changes. Permits help confirm that the work meets the B.C. Building Code and local regulations. We can help you understand when one is needed for your project.
Coverage depends on your policy. We can assess the damage and provide your insurance adjuster or strata contact with a recommended scope of work. They will then confirm what is covered under your policy.
We provide a free assessment and scope of work directly to your strata or insurance company. Repair contracts are usually awarded based on a fixed quote. If your insurance company chooses Walsh Restoration to complete your repairs, we will work with you on a projected timeline to complete the work.
